Target Hiding Plus Size Models in the Country?

I LOVE junkmail. I used to hang out for catalogue days. A little less so these days, I much prefer digital junkmail so much easier. I subscribe to some feeds so I can get them all in one place.

Scrolling through this morning while eating breakfast I came to the Target catalogues, and had to have a double take.

Can you spot the difference. The regular target catalogue is the one on the left, Target Country on the right.

WTF Target?!

I can’t  work out what to make of that?

Are they saying country folk are fatter than their city cousins?

Or more accepting of seeing a fuller figured model in their junk mail?

All the ladies are looking pretty haut in their undies to me.  I just can’t understand why there would need to be a difference. Everything else on the cover is the same.

What do you think? Would love to know the reasoning behind it.

UPDATE: I posted on Target’s Facebook, as I was genuinely curious as to the reasoning behind it. I thank them for taking the time to post a reply.

Hi Everyone, at Target we celebrate women of all shapes and sizes with stylish, quality and value for money Intimate Apparel! We would LOVE to show our full range in all catalogues, but due to space restrictions this isn’t always possible. So to ensure we showcase a broad range to all our customers, we will often advertise different product’s in our Target and Target Country catalogues. This gorgeous fuller figure bra and brief set is available at both Target and Target Country stores in a variety of sizes as we don’t want any woman to miss out!”

I can’t say I have noticed other catalogues. Perhaps this was a one off? Maybe they do mix it up and have the different models in the different catalogues. It still does seem a little strange to me, when you see them together like that. I just hope there was no hidden a gender to it, but I suppose they wouldn’t tell us that..would they ;)

At the end of the day, I guess it is great to see a sexy fuller figure gal on the cover. Lets hope we see much more of it to come!

Noice-ities

Have you checked out our fun new weekly challenge over at That’s Noice! We’d love to get a chance to find out what’s noice in your world each week.

We have been wanting to do this for awhile, but have had trouble coming up with a name. Rah came up with Noice-ities, but we were trying to avoid it…cause, well… it looks like noice tits right…and we love you and all..but we don’t want to see your tits. And then you go sticking the word on our logo, and now it looks like a big nipple. Maybe it’s just me.

Annnyway, back to the challenge. This week rah has asked..

If skill/talent was no object, what do you want to make?

Good to know that skill and talent are no object because I have none of those :P

I hate crafty bloggers, I really do. They are EVERYWHERE you can’t avoid them, flaunting their fabulous creations and awesome talents all over the interwebs…it’s no fair…SO jealous ;) (no really, I do love you)

Lots of talents I wished I had, but I think sewing would be the main one. I have given it a try, but I hate sucking at stuff, so without any real clue, I have given up pretty quickly.

So if I was awesome with a sewing machine, what would I make. Hmm..way to hard to pick one thing.

I’d love to be able to make softies. I have attempted a sock monkey in the past, but like everything else..never finished it.

I’d also love to make bags, totes, messengers in lots of cute fabric.

Oh, and quilts, blame Fern and all her recent awesome quilts.

The list could do on, I really need a craft talent transplant..anyone know where I can get one? Poor deprived child I am, my mummy ever taught me these things.

Rah and I are looking at attending some of The Craft Room classes that Notebook magazine are running in Sydney. We have already booked in with Liz to do the cupcake decorating, that was a given. But the other ones look really great too.

So what about you, jump on over to That’s Noice and join in!!

Happy 5th Birthday AFW…

…for 2 days ago.

I didn’t forget, just busy with work and stuff. And we did the whole birthday thing back in February.

You see, the site sort of has 2 birthdays.

04.05.2005 was the date the forums were set up. Back then it had a different name, Off Topic Oz…lame no? I had dreams of a offtopic.com ish site…optimistic much *hehe*. But after a few months it became clear they we were pretty much only attracting women. So I decided to purchase a new domain name and rebrand the site.

13.04.2005 the site was officially relaunched on the new domain name.. www.allforwomen.com.au

The lovely Di (or Mad Old Cow as I one day changed her username to, and it has stuck) sent me this beautiful gift and card.

She tells me, repeatedly that owls are suppose to be lucky :P There was also a lovely apron, but I used it before I took a pic and got sauce all over it…opps!

So thanks Di for being so thoughtful, and thanks to all the girls at AFW  :)
