Flickr Friday-Hands

Had lots of fun doing the mosaic meme the other day. I love spending time browsing flickr for no reason…so your a little less guilty if you can do it for a purpose.

The clever Kate from lazy cow design has come up with flickr Friday, a chance to browse fab flickr pics each Friday and make a mosaic..very cool, no? Trish has made one too (which is where I found it).

Each week will be a new theme, this week it was hands. Thought that would be easy! I had so much trouble choosing, I could have been here all night.

So here is my hands mosaic. If you have a go, stop by lazy cow design and leave your link in the mr linky!

The Twins

No, not my boobs!

twins

These twins came to live with us recently. I have been in search of a phone for months, but could never quite find something with everything I wanted that wasn’t $1000+. So I had to sacrifice the qwerty, and I went with the n95.

Of course hubby couldn’t be left out, so I had to get him one too (he doesn’t use hardly any of the nifty bits, it’s a tad wasted on him I think). Back in the day, we used to have his and her matching runners, and now we do matching gadgets! Think the shoes were a bit cheaper. As much as I really love gadgets and new toys, I hate change. As excited as I was to get these babies and start playing, it took a few weeks to really get into them and work out what was what and what they could do.

Thought I would hate not having qwerty on a smartphone, hated txting on my last phone let alone email or online but it hasn’t been to bad and have gotten used to it. All the other extras have certainly made up for it.

I am so in love with this phone! She is nice to snuggle with at night and all I need it to do is cook and I am set!

The music playing is great, and good timing since my mp3 recently passed away. The email features are so much better. Add in operamini and it just rocks!

I haven’t had much of a chance to play with the camera, but have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the still and video. Took this leafy pic the other day, walking a long.

Lotsa leaves

Apart from the occasional flipping out and restarting itself (still haven’t worked that out..probably my fault) I <3 everything about my n95!

Jeans and a T

I am a jeans and tshirt kinda girl. I think I used to be a bit of a tomboy when I was a kid. I have noticed tho, that I am getting much more girly in my old age. Even my favourite colour has changed to pink somewhere a long the line.

It can be a little hard to find nice tshirt in a more…ahh..roomy sizeshirt ;)

I <3 threadless, they have so many cool designs and they come in lots of sizes. Best of all the price is great and they don’t play postage pirate on orders to Australia like many other places do. I just put a order in for a couple today as they are having a big sale on. Might share one with the man pet…if hes good :P

Last week I spotted an offer on OzBargain (a must subscribe for lots of great specials and deals) for a $1 t-shirt. Who could pass up such a deal? Wooshka, an Aussie company based in Melb were give you the chance to get a t-shrit for $1 and pay for the postage. $6 all up..bargain! I I ordered this one and it arrived today. Also got some nifty extra goodies in the package. Very happy with the shirt, and will definitely be keeping an eye on what they have coming up.

This is the best angle your going to get of me wearing said T..not quite doing the Karen Cheng, but I don’t think your suppose to in a tshirt. Beside that, my mirror is permanently covered in toothpaste!

Got my hair cut again today too..can you tell?

RSPCA Cupcake Day

Those marketing folk at the RSPCA are a clever bunch..no? Can there be a better combination, cute animals and yummy cupcakes!

Monday August 18th (a day after my birthday!) is Cupcake Day for the RSPCA. RSPCA Cupcake Cooks across Australia will descend on their schools, workplaces and social groups with batches of yummy homemade cupcakes to sell. With 100% of the proceeds will go to the RSPCA.

Whether you want to be an RSPCA Cupcake Cook or simply an RSPCA Cupcake eater, you will be supporting the thousands of animals we care for everyday.

To get involved and host your own Cupcake party all you need to do is go to the site and register your details and the will send you a Cupcake kit for all the details you will need to know for the day! Or you can download it from the site.

Anyone can get involved to bake or eat cupcakes for the animals. I think I will be going on a weekend long cupcake baking and eating bender!

They even have animal friendly cupcake recipes for our furry families!

Pupcakes

Here’s a special occasion, sweet treat for your pups. Remember, to serve up these doggy cupcakes in
moderation, we don’t’ want your poodle addicted to strudel!
2 3/4 cups water
1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups wholemeal flour
1 cup dried apple pieces – you can also use fresh fruit
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 egg, beaten slightly
4 tablespoons honey
Preheat oven to 175 degrees. Spray muffin tin with cooking spray.
Mix all wet ingredients thoroughly. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients slowly , scraping well to make sure no dry mixture is left.
Pour into muffin tins.
Bake for 1 1/4 hours. Insert a toothpick into the centre of a pupcake and if it comes out dry, they are ready to come out of the oven.
Wait until cooled to serve.
Store in a sealed container.
Makes around 12-14 pupcakes.
