Crazy Cat Lady, Who Me?

So, Liz is having this competition to win a ticket to the sold out Problogger’s training event in Melbourne next month.

I had really wanted to go, but didn’t have the money at the time and couldn’t quite justify another trip to Melbourne. But I now have a SUPER exciting new project I am working on…it would be the perfect opportunity to share it with you all.

I never enter competitions, they always ask stupid questions. 25 words or less..be creative. I have run competitions where I get 100′s of entries of songs, poems and limericks. Pfft, I have no chance!

But when I saw Liz’s question I thought… cats..hmm, maybe I can do that. Then I got to thinking about some of the pictures I had, and giggling to myself just a little too much. I thought why not. At least I’ll have a post for Caturday.

So here is my entry, which is basically a collection of my most embarrassing cat pictures.

The competition question is…

“Tell me how you would smuggle a cat and/or dinosaur into the ProBlogger Training Day.”

Ok, so plan A is…. Disguise cats as babies, and smuggle them in a pram.

I have a cat pram, yes..I really do.  We can smuggle at least 3 cats in. Room for Train, if we leave Alex at home. And quite possibility a few smaller dinosaurs, maybe some stegosaurus?

Dress them like babies. I’m pretty sure the ears would give them away, hide the ears…and it is like looking at a real baby!

Or, stick one in next to a real baby. People are for ever bullshiting “Oh wow, don’ they look a like” Again, hide the ears, no one will know!

Meezer’s meows often sounds very much like a small baby crying.

Allow Calais to demonstrate…

Now, if that doesn’t work. Never fear..I have a plan B!

Drag queen bloggers!

So there you have it. The place will be over run with cats!

Bye Bye Blogchicks

Sadly, I have decided to close down Blogchicks.

Although I still believe in the wonderful list and community that I once created. Something where everyone was welcome no matter your niche. The stress and disappointment of trying to find someone to help program/code a new list was just too much, and I have decided for my own sanity to walk away. The pangs of guilt every time I got an email from an excited blogger asking to be added to the list.

Promised by so many that they would help, only to be let down. Lost a lot of money to a lovely indian coder named Bill.

Thank you to everyone for their support over the years. I am going to keep a copy of the list here for posterity, and it still gives out some nice traffic for a lot of the bloggers.

I am slowly trying to get back to my blogging happy place. Back to basics, before all the ads and contracts and stress. I have missed it. I am not cut out for all this grown up blogging.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

This week I had the pleasure of seeing the Disney and Cameron Mackintosh musical Mary Poppins at the Capitol Theatre.

I’ve never been to a musical before but, I like Glee..so it would be sort of the same thing, right?

The day didn’t start too well, I was left limping around on a broken shoe, scored my first ever fine and came the closest ever in my adult life to actually peeing my pants.

But after a feast of yummy dumplings in Chinatown, we settled in with our Mary Poppins sippy cups and old english lemonade to watch the show.

I’ll admit, it did take a bit of getting used to. The singing and such (turns out it isn’t much like Glee at all) but it wasn’t long in, and I was just enthralled by it all.

The dancing, singing….the sets!

The sets were unbelievable. At times I found myself, for a moment, forgetting about the cast on stage and just mesmerised by the sets, trying to work out, how on earth did they do that?

The Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious act was definitely the stand out of the show for me, the choreography was truly amazing. There were some other breath taking moments, but I won’t spoil it..you will have to go along and see it for yourself. Definitely a a MUST see show!

Disclaimer: Rah and I visited Mary Poppins as guests of Disney. A big thank you Julie and Disney for a wonderful evening.

Sydney Bloggers Meet – Pocket Bar

Saturday night saw a group of bloggers descend on the poor unsuspecting folks at Pocket Bar in Darlinghurst. Thanks to Dani and Hello Events for a fab night.

I dragged along Tony from work, who is looking to resurrect his blog. Meet the lovely Christina from Hair Romance her blog is depressing, I struggle with a pony tail…what she can do with hair is a.mazing! Was also great to catch up with the gorgeous Cait and Dani.

We had a fabulous night, lots of blogging (and facebook) chatter and laughs. There is another meet next month..Hight tea…ohh la la…you should totes come along! Check out the Hello Events Facebook page for my details.

(it was my turn to get very few decent pics..some borrowed from Rah and Dani)

Things took a little turn for the crazy as when the jug-tails came out. These things were awesome, with the added bonus of being a drink and a snack in one!

I loved this one of Tony, even if he didn’t :P
