Borked tail..sia-manx?

large ceramic bowl+cat tail= ouch :(

Poor Gemini. The kids were feeding the cats on Sunday night, the bowl fell off the bench and onto her tail.

Thankfully our vet was open yesterday. Poor baby has a huge gash in her tail which needed a few stitches, and we’ll just have to wait and see about the other damage…she may end up losing half of her tail.

She was running around crazy purring and rubbing herself on everyone and thing yesterday till the local wore off, then she was pretty miserable and in a lot of pain. She is a lot happier today, and amazingly hasn’t pulled her stitches out yet, tho not for lack of trying.

Fingers crossed the tails heals up enough for her to keep it.

Poor Babeh :(

    Hi
We, our 2 meezers, my sister and I are all pulling for Gemini. You can try to keep her from pulling out the stitches by putting her in an “Elizabethan collar” You probably could get this from your vet. However, if not you can make one out of a paper plate.

Here’s how: Draw a circle in the middle of the plate about the size of Gemini’s neck. Cut a straight line from the edge of the plate to the circle you drew. Continue cutting along the circle. Place the collar around the Gemini’s head in the shape of a cone. Tape the seam on the side facing away from Gemini.

Depending on the fit you may need to remove the collar so Gemini can eat.

Gemini will not like this whole matter but it will make it difficult or impossible for her to get at her stitches.

    Good Luck.

Ouch! Poor Gemini. I’m impressed she hasn’t ripped those stitches out yet. I hope no major damage has been done to her tail that will result in it being partially amputated.

Thanks everyone :) She is feeling much happier, especially seeings Alex has stopped hissing at her.

Stitches are still in, which is a miracle…she pulled all her spay stitches out after a few days.

We’ll go back Friday to see how she goes.
